Job Description

- Look after the HSC related operations within the company in liasion with the outer bodies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate a strong commitment towards health, and safety policies, management systems, and procedures.
- Provide functional oversight, direction, and guidance of health and safety aspects throughout the organization.
- Monitor, coordinate, measure performance, and report on, all health and safety activities throughout the organization.
- Further develop and implement organization-wide health and safety initiatives including processes and procedures.
- Communicate all health and safety initiatives, processes and procedures throughout the organization to ensure all persons have a common and uniform understanding.
- Monitor compliance of health and safety requirements and handle non-conformance issues according to relevant procedures.
- Coaching senior and line managers to achieve excellence in health and safety.
- Assist and guide all levels of management, supervisors and employees on site to implement accident prevention activities plus - where necessary provide interface to Contractors/Clients.
- Carry out safety audits, investigate accidents and root causes, introduce, and supervise corrective actions.
- Monitor, communicate and apply standards created and/or maintained by external bodies, and integrate within internal health, safety management systems.
- Maintain a working knowledge of health and safety legislation, best practices and industry standards in all jurisdictions in which the company operates.
- Provide guidance on competency based health and safety training for all persons throughout the organization.
- Develop and implement health and safety management strategy and plans, including resource, systems, timescales, financials, to support, contribute to, and integrate within, the organization''s annual business plan and long term strategy.
- Research and prepare papers on specific health and safety topics and issues as required.
- Plan and manage departmental activities in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales.
