The general practitioners should be able to treat various diseases of the human body
They have to be able to treat patients of all ages
They should coordinate with any other doctors the patient might be seeing
They have to diagnose the disease, and put the patient on a line of treatment
They have to keep a close watch on the progress of the patient
If there are no improvements, they should then change the line of treatments
They should recommend the patients to specialists, if the disease is complicated
They have to counsel the family of the patient and educate them on the disease and its proper care
