ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Work with the Global Supply Chain Manager, Business Unit management, purchasing departments and Quality Assurance in the US, Italy, and Singapore to target specific areas of sourcing opportunity in China to develop competitive advantage. Develop areas of opportunity for quality cost effective material supply, initiating dialog and negotiations with suppliers and outside groups and consummating supply agreements. Initiate, develop and execute relationships with U.A.E. and GCC supply partners to reduce costs, increase quality and thereby increase the competitive advantage of the STWP businesses. Proposing and following through specific supply chain and material control projects as agreed from time to time, liaising with outside groups as required. The job also involves developing synergies from their relationships with overseas manufacturing partners, and maintaining a focus on their supply chains to exploit opportunities and reduce risk. Monitor quality and supplier performance as necessary and serve as a liaison between Suppliers and Business Unit management as necessary. Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Thorough understanding of purchasing and supply chain management.
- General understanding of domestic and international commercial and contractual legal practice and terminology.
- Good judgment and negotiation skills and ability to effectively handle moderately complex business situations as related to the supply chain.
- Ability to communicate effectively with multi-disciplined teams to achieve results.
- The role requires pro-active attitude and the ability to locate, qualify, and manage multiple supplier relationships to fully exploit the opportunities that undoubtedly exist in this fast growing operation to enhance competitive advantage.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree and 3+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS.
- Preferred individual will have U.A.E. Drivers License.
- Preferred individual will have or be able to obtain Visas to travel to other GCC countries.
