Responsibilities ? Work from blueprints to layout and execute all types of excavations ? Lead the grading, bedding, and back-filling of all types of excavations ? Assess material requirements and assembly of all underground utilities and services (i.e. water, sanitary, storm hydro ducting, communication ducts) ? Assist the Supervisor with scheduling and coordinating project subtrades and associated finishes ? Conduct site visits prior to construction ? Plan and schedule crews and/or subcontractors as per the master schedule ? Lead the manpower within the established project budget ? Maintain safe and proper working order of all tools and equipment on site ? Identify discrepancies in drawings and tenders and capture extra work via Daily Field Reports and utilize the RFI process Job Requirements Experience & Education ? Minimum of five (5) years? experience as a Civil Construction Worker ? Minimum of two (2) years? experience in a supervisory or leadership role ? Relevant trade certificates related to Heavy Equipment Operation is an asset ? Experience working on Plant is an asset ? Knowledge of Standards is an asset ? Knowledge of Environmental Laws Skills ? Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor employees ? Excellent communication, customer service and problem solving skills ? Ability to perform material take offs to meet project specifications ? Ability to read and interpret drawings, and develop and plan work ? Ability to operate, work around, and direct heavy duty equipment ? Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for an extended period of time ? Ability to lift heavy material to approx. shoulder length
