Job Description

The job involves daily barn chores and horse care, teaching riding and horsemanship to beginning adult and youth riders, and saddling horses for and guiding 2-hour recreational rides. hacks out on the park. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a real interest in building the lesson program around his/her skills. School horsing and jump riding disciplines are taught and the stronger candidates will have experience in both.

This position is most suited to a young individual seeking "real-world" experience and who wants to learn all aspects of operating an equestrian program in a rural setting. We are not a show barn. The schedule varies from season to season and the successful candidate will be comfortable working alone and in team. Assisting with all kinds of ranch and maintenance shores during slow periods is expected.

Working effectively with children and youth riders is a priority. Many of our students are beginning riders in both English and western disciplines. Safety procedures with both horses and riders is also of the highest priority.

The candidate must be a competent rider and teacher and have a solid foundation in horsemanship and rider safety. Living on the property is required.
