Job Description

To use sound medical judgment and adhere to all ethical considerations of the practice of medicine; know limitations and seek consult when advisable; keep abreast of current technologies and industry standards

To identify and utilize appropriately best practice through benchmarking and clinical guidelines

To respond to health problems presented by patients through history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate

To perform physical examinations of patients and to determine x-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests required

To interpret examination findings and test results and to implement treatment plans

To prepare and review case histories and obtain data through interviews

To promote patient-centered care through a team approach with emphasis on quality and safety

To determine the need for Specialists consultation and assist in the medical care treatment provided

To work in a timely, efficient and productive manner; demonstrating the ability to see the assigned patients load per day; and respond to a variety of unforeseen daily circumstances, including emergency care of patients

To be held accountable for actions with regard to proper coding and appropriate charging for all services rendered which impacts on the financial viability of the company

To provide on call and other services in practice as appropriate

To carry out appropriate clinical and administrative duties including referral to other services, maintenance of records, managing registers, etc

To work collaboratively with the Clinical Compliance Team to ensure that effective clinical governance is incorporated in the day to day practice

To maintain clinical records either written or computer based in line with professional code and requirements utilizing appropriate coding systems

To undertake appropriate training to meet personal and mandatory educational needs and practice development needs

To attend regular clinical team meetings

To follow company policies, procedures and guidelines

To attend performance and development reviews with the Medical Director

To communicate effectively with patients and their families; must be culturally sensitive

To establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members and patients

To maintaining regular, consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety /environmental procedures
