The College of Information Technology (CIT) at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites highly qualified individuals to apply for a faculty position at the Computer and Network Engineering Department. The CIT seeks candidates who can contribute to the growth of its undergraduate and graduate programs through excellence in teaching, research, and community service. Candidates who leverage Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and use interdisciplinary approaches to advance research in the areas of Robotics and Autonomous Systems are strongly encouraged to apply. The Faculty of Applied Science and Arts enrolling 1,250 students across three design majors: Graphic, Product and Media Design. The GUC (Cairo Campus) invites highly able and motivated applicants for the following vacancy in the Graphic and Media Design Department. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will engage in teaching, research, supervision and administrative duties. She/he will establish and lead a research group in the field of Graphic and Media Design, actively promote graduate and undergraduate research, and attract third-party funded projects in any chosen areas of interest in Design. Teaching covers design, technological and methodological content for the development and implementation of products, processes and services in the field of digital media. The professor should oversee and develop the practice of interactive media-based systems in the degree programs Graphic Design und Media Design. The position includes the establishment of specific Interactive Design Labs as well the engagement in academic collaboration with partner universities.

Experience/skills:
  • Doctorate/PhD or equivalent qualification or evidence of conducted research
  • Proven teaching and practical expertise in diverse areas of Graphic and Media Design, i.e. analysis, concept development, iterative design processes, requirements of design implementation
  • Strong commitment to progressive design education principles regarding a self organized and responsible design study.
  • Understanding of the implications of design practice within social, cultural, economic, scientific or technological contexts.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds, professional experience and aesthetic sensibilities.

  • Practical background in connected user experiences and user engagement strategies; design of interactive based media systems, with an emphasis on human-centered and participatory design
  • Extensive experience in the field of Interface Design for mobile applications and responsive web-based solutions with a focus on graphic layout, typography, and the development of visual language systems
  • Knowledgeable of contemporary prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, and Figma
  • Knowledgeable of currently relevant developments and trends in the field of interactive technologies and media design as well as their impact on course content
  • Theoretical background in user centered research methods and Service Design, in particular Usability Engineering

Professor/Lecturer – Product Design – Industrial Design / Design for Mobility

Responsibilities:

The position will focus on teaching the multiple physical aspects of design for mobility. Issues of movement of people, connections to places and accessibility are key of the mobility design course. The applicant should be able to reflect the latest technological developments and findings from human sciences to develop mobility solutions in the broadest sense and to offer a wider spectrum of products for supporting the mobility systems of local and international markets. You are invited to apply for a visiting faculty position in a new undergraduate program, a B.A. in Business, Organizations and Society. The program is interdisciplinary and focuses on the role and impact of business within society. Established on principles of the liberal arts, the program integrates business theory and application, and prepares students to take on roles in businesses and effectively and holistically examine the implications of business decisions for society from multiple perspectives (i.e., social, political, economic, and cultural).

The program seeks applicants whose research and teaching are rooted in Management, Entrepreneurship, Business Ethics Social Impact, or a related area. Applicants should demonstrate an outstanding track record for their career stage, in both research and teaching. This is a part-time remote role for an online AP chemistry tutor.
