HSE officers inspect and document accidents or near-accidents in the workplace, finding out causes and implementing solutions. When there is an accident, HSE officers often work with medical staff.

Qualifications
Requirements to become an HSE officer vary, although most need at least a certificate proving they are qualified to determine the safety of a building. Certification courses are available both online and at vocational schools or community colleges. Others may need an associate degree in science or environmental technology.
