Job Description

IT SUPPORT ENGINEER

1. Escalate IT issues to the IT Manager where necessary
2. Responsible for managing backups and tape rotation
3. Diagnose and resolve technical issues
4. Undertake small to medium-sized IT projects as instructed by the IT Manager
5. Provide desktop and server support
6. Support and maintain MS Server/Desktops and MS Exchange
7. Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops
8. Install authorised software to laptops and desktops
9. Ensuring security and upgrades are applied and kept up to date on desktops and laptops
10. Antivirus installation to all desktops and laptops
11. Fault-finding to laptops and desktops
12. Reporting faults and maintaining logs on servers, desktops and laptops
13. Completing internal user moves including phones
14. Patching of network and phones
15. Making of Cat 5 e network cables were necessary
16. Ensure all logs for equipment and users are maintained
17. Setting up and configuring new core servers
18. Installing authorised software to core servers
19. Ensuring patches and upgrades are applied to core servers
20. Fault-finding to core servers
21. Creating purchase requisitions for IT hardware/software
22. Ensuring all software purchased licensing is recorded and maintained
23. Exchange server mailbox maintenance including archiving mailboxes
24. Setting up new users and disabling expired accounts in accordance with HR requirements
25. Providing support for MAC and PC
