Infinity Mutual is seeking to employ a Head Nurse Anaesthetics or ICU.

Overview of role:
Has full responsibility for the daily supervision and patient care in their areas, e.g., Medical-Surgical units, Paediatrics, Emergency Room, ICU, Operating Room, Obs & Gynae Ward, Labour and Delivery, Neonatal ICU, etc.
Responsible for effective management of the ward staff and maintenance of the physical environment and resources

Specific Duties/responsibilities:-
- Leadership:
Provides effective leadership to the ward's clinical and non-clinical workforce to ensure that the ward team delivers the highest possible standards of patient centered care.
Acts at all times in a manner that provides a positive role model for less senior members of staff in the hospital
Leads the team working in the area, within the context of Saudi Medicare's values and beliefs framework. These are appended as part of the job description
- Service Delivery:
Ensure the delivery of nursing or midwifery care to meet the needs of patients and their families in the area of responsibility
Formulates, develops and adopts work techniques and methods for improved patient care and problem resolution.
- Service Quality:
Contributes to the development of nursing and organisational policies and procedures
Ensures that all hospital and organisational policies and procedures are implemented
Actively monitors service quality within their area, and working to improve it. Reporting areas of concern to the Nursing Supervisor / Director Of Nursing
Promptly responds to reports of complaints, accidents and incidents on the ward, ensuring that a prompt and appropriate response is made, both personally and by ward staff.
Resource management:-
- Personnel:
Manages staff and services efficiently and effectively. Ensuring that at all times the ward is appropriately staffed for workload, with the correct skill mix.
Promotes positive working relationships, optimal staff safety, welfare and development.
Implements performance management through periodic individual performance review according to hospital policies. Applying the Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures and counseling staff as necessary. Ensures that staff within the area complies with the required standards of dress/uniform and behaviour at all times.
- Staff training and education:
Identifies staff training needs with nurse educators and supervisors.
Ensures that nursing staff within the area maintain a Nursing Competencies Manual and attend in-service training as required
Assists in the development and delivery of training programmes as appropriate, in conjunction with Continuing Education Dept.
Ensures that new staff are inducted into their Ward or Department, and that their probation period is managed.
Maintaining a programme of on-the-job training on the ward.
- Physical/Environment:
Maintaining the environment including all equipment, fixtures and fittings to the highest standards of appearance, function and cleanliness, commensurate with the overall accommodation.
Ensuring that all drug usage, key transfer and control is correctly and accurately undertaken and documented, immediately reporting and investigating discrepancies.
Ensures that all stock management is correctly and accurately undertaken and recorded, reporting and investigating discrepancies. All of the above, as per policies and procedures.
Additional duties:
Is responsible for own professional development and continued registration with the appropriate registration body of country of hire.
Provides hospital management cover on a rotational basis as required.
Deputises for the Nursing Supervisor as required
Attends meetings as required and participates actively in the ongoing development of clinical and other services.
Performs other applicable tasks and duties within the realm of knowledge, skills and abilities as may be delegated or assigned by senior staff.

Reports to: Nursing Supervisor
Quality system procedures associated with this role: Specialist nursing procedures relevant to the area

Person Specification:
1.Must have a degree in nursing or equivalent certification (Registered Nurse) with a minimum of four (4) years of experience. At least two (2) years of this experience must have been as a Charge Nurse or Head Nurse in their area of responsibility.
2.The Head Nurse of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology area must have experience in midwifery.
3.Holds a current Professional Nursing License.
