Job Description


Costume Designer


Mission

Design and create new performance costumes to match show/event vision
Proactively research for latest costume trends and suggest ideas for new show productions
Design, pattern and sew all costumes and accessories for existing events and shows
Contract suppliers & tailors when needed and manage their workload to meet deadlines and budgets
Work with Entertainment Department to ensure event vision is achieved and expectations are exceeded
Manage organization and cleanliness of the costume room and closets
Supervise costume fitting for performers on the nights of shows
Manage inventory and order materials for new costumes production
Alter existing costumes to new performers

Requirements

5+ years’ experience as Costume or Clothing Designer
Be creative and imaginative, have a good understanding of event and entertainment industry specifics
Ability to draw sketches freehand and in graphic programs
Ability to create new designs based on various themes, pattern and sew them
Ability to manage suppliers and contracted tailors and carry full responsibility for the deliverables
Ability to work within strict budgets and deadlines
Have broad knowledge of various textiles, mascots and scenic props creation
Ability to partner with various teams to ensure show/event vision is delivered
