MRI Technologist Job Description
Greets the patient, explains the forthcoming test, reviews the requisition, and completes the pertinent medical history form.
Prepares contrast to be administered to individual patients.
Observes the patient during the diagnostic procedure from the control room and summons medical aid when necessary.
Operates equipment (MRI machines) in such a way as to produce the desired highest possible quality diagnostic result with a minimum of discomfort to the patient.
Follows MRI safety regulations and guidelines so as to minimize risk to other members of the staff and patients.
Assist in the research and development activities of senior members of the facility.
Assists in planning Quality Assurance program and performs the Quality Control testing.
Maintains and conforms with all applicable considerations for safety standards and regulations.
MRI Technologist Qualifications
Successful completion of a recognized MRI diploma / degree program
At least 1 year of work experience is an asset
