Job Description:
The Fabricator (Pipe Fitter) will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems on marine vessels. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience in pipe fitting, preferably in a marine environment. The Fabricator will work closely with other members of the team to ensure that all projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of piping systems.
- Measure, cut, and thread pipes to required specifications.
- Weld, braze, solder, or cement joints to connect pipes.
- Install and secure pipes using brackets, clamps, and hangers.
- Test piping systems for leaks and ensure proper functioning.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on existing piping systems as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while carrying out duties.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Fabricator (Pipe Fitter), preferably in a marine environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of piping materials, fittings, and joining methods.
- Experience with welding, brazing, soldering, and cementing techniques.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the marine industry.
- Certification or training in pipe fitting or related field.
- Familiarity with marine-specific piping systems and regulations.
