ART AND CRAFTS TEACHER

The Objective is to manage and develop the art and crafts department and to be responsible for program and class planning to meet the curriculum statement in this area.
Arts and craft teacher is accountable to the Senior Teacher.
DUTIES
1. To work as part of an interdisciplinary team with all relevant members of staff, in assessments, objective setting, program writing and monitoring in the domain of creative arts.
2. To plan and execute individual/ small group sessions in the area of creative arts.
3. To manage and ensure the safety and well being of the students in his/her care.
4. To develop individual education plan of each child, in the area of art and crafts, appropriate to the developmental level, particular disability and overall ability of the students.
5. To keep records of work carried out and to write reports for each IEP meeting.
6. To meet with parents at the Center during IEP Meetings.
7. To share in and take responsibility for planning and leading group programs as required from time to time.
8. To ensure the appropriateness, proper use, safety, hygiene, and condition of the equipment in the art and craft department.
9. To take part in, and contribute to the staff training programs.
10. To help maintain the safety and security of the Center and those using it.
11. To contribute positively towards developing the art and crafts department by introducing new and innovative projects such as ceramic and clay modeling, wood carving, etc.
12. To encourage students to participate in art competitions/art exhibitions.
13. To participate in extra-curricular activities limited to the purpose of the Center from time to time.
14. To participate in the overall work of the Center in designing brochures, posters, cards etc.
15. Such other duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Director.
