Job Description
We are seeking a UI/UX Game Designer to join our team on a freelance, project-based basis. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing user interfaces, user experiences, HUD, and navigation system. that enhance player engagement and contribute to an immersive gaming environment.
Responsibilities
- User Interface Design: Create intuitive and visually appealing UI elements for games, including menus, HUDs (heads-up displays), icons, and buttons that align with the game’s theme and story.
- User Experience Research: Conduct user research and usability testing to understand player needs, preferences, and behaviors, ensuring that the design enhances overall gameplay.
- Prototyping and Wireframing: Develop prototypes and wireframes using industry-standard tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD) to present design concepts and gather feedback from stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with game designers, 3D artists, and developers to create cohesive design solutions that integrate seamlessly into the game’s overall aesthetic and mechanics.
- Iterative Design: Continuously iterate on designs based on feedback from team members and playtesters, making improvements to both UI and UX throughout the development process.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer in the gaming industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in UI/UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch) and a solid understanding of game mechanics and player engagement strategies.
- Creativity: Strong visual design skills with a focus on creating engaging and functional user interfaces that enhance gameplay.
- Player-Centric Approach: Ability to analyze user feedback and behavior data to design experiences that resonate with players.
- Communication: Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Portfolio: A robust portfolio that demonstrates your UI/UX design work in games, including examples of UI components, wireframes, and user flows.
