Responsibilities & Preferred Candidate Profile : CONSULTANT PHYSIATRIST-Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR)

Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR) role involves comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, and management for disabilities (neuro, musculoskeletal, chronic pain), developing personalized plans using evidence-based practice, performing interventions like EMG/injections, leading multidisciplinary teams (PT, OT, Speech), patient education, and adhering to strict JCIA/MOH standards, focusing on restoring function and quality of life for the Saudi Ministry members and families.

u>Core Responsibilities as listed below/u>: CONSULTANT PHYSIATRIST-Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR)

  • Patient Care: Provide inpatient and outpatient care for conditions affecting mobility, strength, and function.
  • Diagnosis & Treatment: Utilize comprehensive evaluations, including electrodiagnostics (EMG/NCS) and image-guided interventions (joint injections, Botox).
  • Rehabilitation Planning: Develop and implement personalized, multidisciplinary treatment plans.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Nurses, and Psychologists.
  • Prosthetics/Assistive Devices: Recommend and fit devices like wheelchairs, braces, or orthotics.
  • Patient/Family Education: Educate on conditions, treatment, and long-term management.

Key Duties & Standards: CONSULTANT PHYSIATRIST-Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR)

  • Quality & Compliance: Adhere to JCIA, MOH, and Hospital policies, ensuring high-quality care.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership, oversee staff, and train junior staff/interns.
  • Education & Research: Participate in hospital educational programs and clinical research.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records within the Health Information System (HIS).

Typical Environment

  • Settings: Operate in various Saudi Ministry hospitals and medical cities across Saudi Arabia.
  • Work Schedule: Generally Sunday to Thursday, with potential weekend coverage for specific roles.
