We are a leading subcontractor supporting major EPC projects in Qatar’s Oil & Gas sector. Our team delivers construction, engineering, and technical services across large-scale projects. To strengthen our SHES (Safety, Health, Environment & Security) function, we are hiring an experienced Deputy Site SHES Manager to join our project leadership team.
Position Overview
The Deputy Site SHES Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing site-level SHES operations, ensuring compliance with QatarEnergy/Qatargas EPC project requirements. The role supports the Site SHES Manager in implementing safety systems, supervising SHES personnel, coordinating with contractors, and driving a proactive safety culture across all project work fronts.
This position is ideal for candidates with strong Oil & Gas EPC background and senior SHES leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Site SHES Manager in implementing project SHES plans, procedures, and EPC client standards.
- Supervise SHES teams (Supervisors/Officers/Coordinators) and ensure consistent site-wide compliance.
- Oversee the implementation of PTW systems, risk assessments (HIRA/JSA), method statements, and safe work practices.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, toolbox talk evaluations, and SHES performance monitoring.
- Support and lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action close‑out.
- Monitor environmental control measures: waste management, spill response, air/noise compliance, and sustainability practices.
- Coordinate with site security teams to ensure access control, emergency preparedness, and security protocols.
- Conduct emergency drills and ensure readiness of fire, rescue, and first-aid systems.
- Prepare daily/weekly SHES reports for internal management and client submissions.
- Act as Site SHES Manager when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- NVQ Level 5 / Postgraduate Diploma / Postgraduate Degree in SHES (mandatory for EPC SHES Critical Positions).
- Minimum 12–15 years SHES experience in Oil & Gas EPC/construction projects.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior SHES supervisory/leadership role.
- NEBOSH IGC required; NEBOSH Diploma preferred.
- Strong knowledge of EPC project safety systems, PTW, risk assessments, SIMOPS, and incident management.
- Experience working on Qatar/GCC mega projects highly advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and reporting skills.
- Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate with multiple contractors.
