Our Dubai Team

Our fast-growing, well-regarded and award-winning Finance & Restructuring team advises banks, market-leading corporates and sponsors with their financing portfolios as well as on major transactions. It is well known for handling complex muti-bank cross border transactions, both on a secured and unsecured basis and often incorporating green loan or sustainability-linked principals. The team covers the following disciplines using both conventional and Islamic structures: bilateral and syndicated lending; acquisition and leveraged finance; real estate finance; project finance; asset-based lending, receivables finance and trade finance and structured finance.

Our team is an established player in Islamic finance and has advised some of the largest Islamic financial institutions in the region. The team is expert in a wide range of Islamic products and familiar with the impact of the latest regulatory developments promulgated by AAOIFI and others. The team’s experience of Shari’ah compliant financing ranges from general banking, project finance, restructuring and hedging.

The team also has extensive experience working with the full spectrum of stakeholders (including insolvency practitioners, shareholders, directors and financial creditors) on all aspects of consensual and contentious financial restructuring in relation to both out-of-court arrangements and court-led proceedings. In this context the team also has an in-depth understanding of the UAE’s various insolvency regimes. We have also worked closely with the insolvency practitioners active in the region, including Alvarez & Marshal, who were the appointed administrators on the administration and related restructuring of NMC Healthcare. Brief

We are currently looking to recruit a talented construction and commercial disputes lawyer with at least 5 PQE to join our Construction Advisory and Disputes team operating from our office in Dubai. This would be a Senior Associate role.

The role will involve working as part of a team most likely engaged on substantial litigation and international arbitration disputes. The successful candidate would ideally be from a specialist construction disputes background, although candidates from a commercial litigation background may also be considered.

The candidate should be technically excellent but, equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development. They will be a team player with a strong client focused approach and excellent communication and organisational skills.

To be right for us, you will have court litigation experience which includes appearing before court-appointed experts. . You will have experience of drafting and with the ability to support English language arbitration cases with civil law advice.

Role Purpose

To provide efficient and effective administrative services to fee earners Assigned ( Partners, Senior Associates and equivalents).

Main Responsibilities

  • Proactively manages and coordinates all aspects of tasks assigned (e.g. meetings, events, travel, etc.)

About the role:

Role Overview

Projects Solicitor

Purpose of the Role

As a mid-level to senior associate, you will be working on large scale energy and infrastructure practice across sectors (conventional and renewable energy, decarbonisation, social and transport infrastructure) for government clients and for private developers from our new office in Riyadh.   • Qualified lawyer with ideally 3-5 years PQE, however other levels of experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrable experience of working on large scale energy and infrastructure projects across the Middle East.
  • The ability to take a lead role supporting complex transactions, liaising and coordinating with fee earners from other relevant disciplines as needed.

You will advise International Health business on data protection issues collaborating with compliance, legal and security experts. • Ensure appropriate data protection policies and guidelines are defined, implemented and kept updated throughout the organization. • Monitor and report on potential data protection issues and opportunities for improvement within International Health; contribute to the design and implementation of structural, procedural and policy improvements. • Create content for privacy training and awareness courses for relevant employees. • Act as a subject matter expert to advise the business on data protection issues, including completing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIA). • Support the implementation and maintenance of the register of processing activities as controller and processor. • Test and monitor compliance with applicable data privacy regulations, including GDPR, UK, DIFC, Asian and African DP specific regulations. • Support the legal team on drafting and negotiating internal and external data privacy agreements including Standard Contractual Clauses. • Support Cigna Information Protection in the event of data breaches and data protection events/incidents. • Identify data protection-related security measures to be implemented and follow up on data protection-related security measures and actions. • Contribute to the annual data protection report. • Create metrics regarding privacy and data protection as requested by the Chief Privacy Officer. • Develop privacy and data protection legal expertise in relevant strategic markets. • Engage with the Supervisory Authority(ies) when necessary.
