Overview Of The Role

As the Financial Controller, you will own the monthly closure of accounts in line with Group policies, implement best practice reporting and controls, and serve as a key finance partner to the business—optimizing logistics costs, supporting tenders/pricing for large customers, and enabling financing solutions to drive profitable growth.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver monthly book closure; approve/supervise monthly provisions; ensure IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) compliant revenue, cost, and expense recognition; and enforce SOP aligned internal controls
  • Review contracts for large B2B customers; actively participate in pricing/tenders; partner with Al Futtaim Finance to formalize customer financing solutions
  • Support Al Futtaim Finance Sales in finalizing leasing terms; drive collections and resolve reconciliation issues
  • Ensure VAT compliance and adherence to IFRS; liaise with Group Legal, Admin, HR, and Al Futtaim Group companies
  • Supervise AP (Accounts Payables), AR (Accounts Receivables), Inventory, and petty cash; conduct units order studies to optimize ordering and reduce aged inventory
  • Manage SAP changes to keep invoice formats/accounting processes compliant; design and implement reporting/process improvements; review accounting policies and recommend enhancements
  • Lead and coach branch accountants and financial analysts; allocate tasks, monitor performance, and build capability for accuracy and efficiency
  • Improve cash flow by negotiating supplier payment terms and driving disciplined working capital management

Required Skills To Be Successful

  • Deep knowledge of IFRS and VAT with hands on month end close and provisions control.
  • Proficiency in SAP and strong command of finance processes (AP, AR, Inventory, petty cash).
  • Commercial acumen in contract review, pricing, and tenders for large B2B customers; ability to partner with financing teams and sales on leasing.
  • Track record in collections, reconciliation resolution, working capital optimization, and process/reporting improvements.

You will lead a team of branch accountants and financial analysts, collaborating closely with Al Futtaim Finance Sales on leasing terms, and coordinating with Group functions (Legal, Admin, HR) and AF Group companies on matters.
